Schatz Statement on National Security Supplemental

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today released the following statement regarding the Senate’s bipartisan national security supplemental bill.

“The fate of the free world is on the line in the war in Ukraine – and whether or not the United States continues to step up to help Ukraine fight back against Putin’s unrelenting assault will define our leadership on the global stage for generations to come,” said Senator Schatz, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

“This bipartisan deal is not perfect – no compromise ever is. But it is absolutely essential to bolstering Ukraine’s defense at this crucial juncture with munitions and resources. It also provides vital military and humanitarian aid to our allies and partners in the Middle East and Asia. We need to pass this package urgently.”
