Schatz Meets With Members of South Korean National Assembly, Reiterates Commitment to U.S.-ROK Alliance
WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Chair of the Senate Korea Caucus, released the following statement after meeting with a bipartisan delegation from the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly.
“I had a productive and substantive conversation with a bipartisan delegation from the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly. We discussed the recent political developments in South Korea, the importance of supporting and strengthening the U.S.-ROK alliance, and our shared commitment to protecting democratic institutions and principles.
“South Korea remains one of our strongest allies in the world. We will continue to stand together to uphold peace and security on the Korean Peninsula, enhance economic prosperity, and strengthen regional stability.”
