Hawai‘i Congressional Delegation Statement On President Biden’s Supplemental Request For Additional Disaster Aid
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i) and Mazie Hirono (D-Hawai‘i) and U.S. Representatives Ed Case (D-Hawai‘i) and Jill Tokuda (D-Hawai‘i) today released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s new supplemental appropriations request, which includes funding for disaster recovery on Maui and across the country.
“Almost a year since the devastating fires on Maui, the people of Lahaina still need help. Their lives are nowhere near back to normal, and it will take sustained support from the federal government to get them fully back on their feet. President Biden’s new supplemental appropriations request is an important and necessary investment in them and disaster survivors across the country. Now, Congress needs to pass this funding quickly and get people the help they urgently need.”
