As Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Senator Schatz has consistently delivered tens of millions of federal dollars each year in housing, disaster recovery, and homeless assistance grants.

He is also leading efforts to ensure that Hawai‘i roads and sidewalks are safe and accessible for everyone, authoring legislation to support pedestrian-friendly development and delivering billions of dollars in federal funding to make our roads and communities more resilient to the effects of climate change.
