Senator Schatz believes that everyone in Hawai‘i and across the country should have access to affordable, quality health care.
He has authored legislation to create a Medicaid-based public option that would provide Americans with a new high-quality, low-cost choice when purchasing health insurance. And he’s leading efforts to expand telehealth services through Medicare.
In the Senate, Senator Schatz is tackling health challenges that are unique to Hawai‘i and helping our state recover from the pandemic. He continues to fight for funding for health care programs and clinics in our state, particularly those that serve Native Hawaiians. He is also a champion for strengthening Hawai‘i’s health care workforce and improving public health to ensure families and communities in Hawai‘i stay safe and healthy.
